Portland Parenting Time / Visitation Lawyers
Parenting Time Modification Attorneys in Portland Metro Area
There may be instances where changes may need to be made to a parenting plan. Common situations include, to name a few:
- When one parent wants to move from the area
- Children get older and have schedules of their own
- A change in parent work schedules
If you want to ensure that changes are made properly, seeking advice from a Portland family law attorney is in your best interest. At Pacific Cascade Legal, we provide straightforward, compassionate guidance for your family law matter. Our legal team will take time to listen to your goals for your family and determine the best route to take to reach a favorable outcome. Our lawyers strive for success and advocate strongly for our clients at all times.
Can I Change a Parenting Time Order in Oregon?
When changes to the parenting schedule arise, parents must go through the courts to ensure that their new plan is enforceable. Even if parents are in agreement about changes to parenting time, they must still get a new order signed by a judge. A simple verbal agreement cannot and will not be enforced by the courts.
In determining parenting time (visitation), the courts will ultimately look out for the best interests of the children. As your children become older, they may have more input in certain situations, and judges may consider their input when determining whether to change the parenting plan or whether a modification to custody is appropriate.
