Pacific Cascade Legal recently launched a Colleague Appreciation Recognition Program to highlight members of our incredible team who have been shining in their position and serving as a source of support in the lives of their coworkers and clients. Every month, employees are encouraged to nominate one coworker who they feel represents our firm’s core values, which they can do via an online system we have at the office. At the end of each month, our Leadership Team reads through all of our nominations and chooses one employee for that month’s Colleague Appreciation Award.
Our June Colleague Appreciation Winner was Human Resources Generalist, Maria Del Rosario! We asked Maria a few questions to highlight her path to our firm, and what motivates her to excel in her role:
How long have you been working at the firm?
“I’ve been working at Pacific Cascade Legal for two and a half years now.”
What led you down this career path to where you are today with Pacific Cascade Legal?
“Luck! Lewis was my client at the bank I worked for previously. One day I asked him if he was hiring, and then the rest is history!”
What does a day in the life of Maria look like on a regular work week?
“It depends on if I have a new hire or outgoing employee, but my work is mostly HR tasks now, such as reviewing new applicants, scheduling interviews, handling PTO requests, etc, and I sometimes help with operations and technology projects.”
If you could have any job for just one day, what would it be and why?
“Maybe being the President. There are a lot of issues that I would try to fix or change for the better future of my girls and all children.”
Do you have a motto or personal mantra that you feel influences how you go about life?
“The song “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”. I am the type of person who, even if I have a problem or issues going on, I make sure that I am still happy and not bringing people down. You wouldn’t even know the difference because I always have a smile on my face no matter what.”
What do you find most fulfilling about your job?
“It’s so fulfilling when new hires tell me that our onboarding process is organized and how I make them feel welcome. I also love helping others and making their work life easier.”
What have you gained since working at Pacific Cascade Legal?
“The knowledge of HR work. There are SO many aspects to it, which makes every day different, and always provides me with something new to learn.”
What’s one moment or memory from work that you look back on fondly?
“Truthfully, every experience here is memorable because this is a new world for me! So, I try instilling in me all the things that I am learning daily.”
What’s on your wish list for the years ahead at Pacific Cascade Legal?
“My wish would be for me to have a forever home at this job, and to learn the ins and outs of HR. I would also like to get trained on other things so that I can help my coworkers in all areas.”
What advice would you give to recent hires as they begin their journey at Pacific Cascade Legal?
“Enjoy the journey because this is the BEST firm! This team will support you however they can, and always encourage growth in your career.”

With grandparents in the legal field, a mother in education and a father who was a domestic violence counselor, Lewis was raised by a family dedicated to helping people.
